You can pick up a copy of a police report from our Records Division at the Opelika Police Department during normal business hours of Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. central time. There is a $10 charge for each report copy. We accept credit cards, cash or money orders. No checks are accepted. If you have any questions you may call one of our records clerks at 334-705-5294. The Opelika Police Department is located at 501 South 10th Street, Opelika, Alabama 36801.
If you need a crash report, you can purchase one online through Carfax. It may take a few days following the crash for the report to be uploaded in the system. You will need your report or reference number. If you need any assistance, please call 334.705.5200.
In order to efficiently respond to requests and manage the employment of off-duty police officers, The Opelika, AL Police Department has partnered with Off Duty Management to provide services related to hiring off-duty officers effective June 12th, 2023.

(Vendors may request less than 4hrs, but will be charged the 4hr minimum)
SUPERVISOR RATE*: A supervisor is required for a request of 4+ officers on a job.
HOLIDAY RATE**: The holiday rate will apply to the following days: New Year’s Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Day after Christmas. If shift starting on a holiday runs into another day then all hours will be at the holiday rate. If shift starts on a non-holiday, and runs into a holiday then only hours worked on holiday will be at holiday rate.
EMERGENCY RATE***: If request is received less than 24 hours prior to assignment the emergency pay rate goes into effect
Cancellation policy: Customer cancelling or reducing an assignment within 48 hours of the start of the assignment shall pay the greater of officer hours worked or the agency minimum hours plus ODM administrative fees for the first 24 hours of the original assignment.

Once their online application has been received, applicants will take a Basic Ability Test, Physical Agility Test, complete a background check and formal interview, take a polygraph examination and take a medical and drug screening.
Sadly, the events of September 11th have changed everything. And that means that the Opelika Police and Fire Departments no longer send out patches or pins that could be used to gain entry to secured areas or attached to a uniform for illegal activities.
