The city will begin sidewalk replacement work along 2nd Avenue between 7th and 8th Street on Thursday, June 15 around 9 a.m. A tree removal contractor will be removing a large oak tree near the street on 2nd Avenue between the Heritage House and the Childcare Network property. One lane of 2nd Avenue traffic will be blocked until approximately 3 o’clock the same day. Flagmen will be onsite to direct traffic.
Beginning Friday, June 16 the sidewalk crew will begin demolition of the old sidewalk. To complete this section of sidewalk, the estimated timeframe to complete will be 2 to 3 weeks. During this time, one lane of 2nd Avenue will be blocked with flagmen directing traffic from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day.
