The Opelika City Council voted to amend the ordinance that regulates the hours of sale of alcoholic beverages.
Mayor Gary Fuller said, “We are pleased with the council’s decision to pass the brunch bill. This is going to help our retailers, restaurants and hotels better serve their patrons. This will bring more business to Opelika which in turn increases our revenues.”
Effective Friday, April 7, the following rules apply:
On-Premise Alcohol Sales (Restaurants, hotel, etc.)
- Monday – Saturday – No alcohol sales from 2 – 6 a.m.
- Sunday – no alcohol sales from 2 – 10 a.m.
Off-Premise Alcohol Sales (Grocery, convenience stores, etc.)
- Monday – Saturday – There are no restrictions for alcohol sales.
- Sunday – No alcohol sales from 2 – 10 a.m.
