Opelika Power Services would like to make our customers aware of an ongoing wood pole inspection project. OPS has contracted with Osmose Utility Services to inspect and treat wood power poles on the distribution system.
Starting Thursday (10/6), customers may see utility crews excavating and treating poles on their streets and in their yards. The Osmose crews will be wearing uniforms, hardhats and vests and can provide identification.
Brent Poteet, Director of OPS, shared, “We at
OPS thank you for your patience and assistance as we perform the pole inspections. The inspections and treatments make the system safer, more reliable and extend the life of the poles”.
Initial inspections include 1st Ave, York Ave, Auburn Ave, MLK Blvd, Monroe St, S. Long St, Frederick Rd, Powledge Ave, Hurst St, WE Morton, and other nearby locations.
