On 10/01/2022 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Opelika Police responded to Hickory Haven Trailer Park in the 800 Block of Crawford Road, where they located a male victim with a gunshot wound lying in the roadway. 24-year-old Ker’detrius Mercer of Salem, AL, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect fled prior to officers arrival. Opelika police need the public’s assistance in solving this homicide.
