On 03/01/2021 the Opelika Police Department, with the assistance of Alabama Probation and Parole, arrested Fredrick Orlando Jenkins, 43 yoa from Opelika, AL, on a warrant for Assault, First Degree. Detectives identified Jenkins as the suspect in the assault that occurred in the 1000 Block of York Ave on 02/12/2021.

On 03/02/2021 at 10:30 PM the Opelika Police Department responded to the 500 Block of Maple Avenue in reference to a death. Upon arrival, officers located a 40-year-old female deceased. This case remains under investigation by the Opelika Police Department.
