On 01/19/2021 the Opelika Police Department began investigating a shooting that occurred in the 100 Block of Chester Avenue. The 28-year-old male victim later died at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown in Columbus, GA. On 01/20/2021 at 5:00 PM OPD Detectives arrested Cordezmond Rashaud Harris, 33 yoa from Opelika, AL, on warrants for Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling or Vehicle. Harris is being held at the Lee County Jail.
