[ARCHIVED] Roundabout Video Tips

round about

The following videos show examples of various types of vehicles using the new roundabout at Frederick and ML King Boulevard.

  • This is a standard fuel tanker truck doing a complete trip around the Frederick Road roundabout. The rear wheel is doing as it is designed, to mount and travel on the red concrete apron as it navigates the turn with no problem at the designed speed.
  • This is a standard equipment low-boy that made the smooth transition from Frederick Road to ML King Boulevard without an issue.
  • This is Lambert Transfers and Storage’s largest fleet truck making the sharpest turn on the Frederick Road roundabout from ML King Boulevard to Auburn Street. This truck progressed slowly and crossed the lane lines slightly, but did not have to use the concrete mountable truck apron to make this turn.
  • This is an educational video of what to do and not to do at a roundabout.
    • the black car in the circle at the bottom of the screen should NOT stop for the car entering on ML King. They should keep going around and the car entering should follow in behind.
    • The car waiting to enter the circle on ML King had time to fall in behind the car that stopped before and ahead of the blue truck. Because of the slow speed (15 MPH) inside the circle, there is plenty of room to weave into traffic to keep the flow going smooth.
