[ARCHIVED] MAYOR FULLER AND CITY OF OPELIKA THANK LOWES FOR MINORITY AND RURAL GRANT PROGRAM

OPELIKA, Ala – Mayor Gary Fuller and the City of Opelika would like to share information about a small business grant available to minority-owned and rural  businesses being made by Lowe’s.

“I am grateful to Lowe’s for their commitment to our community. Many of our small businesses have been devastated by the COVID pandemic. The minority and rural grant program is going to benefit those who have been financially impacted. Lowe’s continues to play a role in lifting up those in need. We are eternally grateful for Lowes leadership,” said Mayor Gary Fuller.

Below are details about the grant. Applications open July 27, 2020.

Lowe’s LISC Partnership Small Business (Minority and Rural) Grant

Lowe’s increases its LISC minority grant program by $5 million to $30 million and focuses additional $25 million donation on rural, hard-hit communities nationwide.

Eligibility - Businesses owned and led by minorities and women plus enterprises located in hard-hit rural communities.

Grants of $20,000 to small business owners to help meet their most immediate needs. Eligible expenses include:

Paying rent and utilities

Meeting payroll

Paying outstanding debt to vendors

Upgrading technology infrastructure

Other immediate operational costs
