[ARCHIVED] 2020 Baseball, Softball and T-Ball

T-Ball


Schedule:

June 4at 6 p.m. - Coaches Meeting/Team Selection. THIS MEETING IS ONLY FOR COACHES! Mandatory for ALL COACHES 

June 5th - Teams posted Opelikaparks.com 

June 8 - Practices begin this week.

June 15 -Games will begin the week 

July 31 - Season ends


Player Age Information: 

  • All 4-year-olds will be placed on a T-ball team; 
  • All 6-year-olds will be placed on a coach pitch team. 
  • 5-year-olds may choose which league they would like to play in. 
  • There is NO EXCEPTION to the age and league placements. 
  • Childs age is based on their age April 30, 2020. A child that turns 5 after April 30 must play 4-year-old T-ball. No Exceptions! 

Additional Information:

  • All Practices & Games will be at West Ridge Park on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays. 
  • Teams will meet 2 – 3 times per week 
  • All players will need a baseball glove and bat there is no sharing of equipment 
  • All bats must say T-ball or approved for Dixie Youth play for all leagues! 
  • Cleats are optional 

Modifications due to COVID-19

  • Players will not be in the dugout while the team is batting there will be designate areas on the inside of the fences for each player. Players must have 1 and only 1 ADULT buddy sit with them in their designated area. All other spectators must be outside of the field. 
  • The Adult buddy and the player must wear mask while not on the field. 
  • There is no sharing of equipment each player must have their own bat and glove. 
  • There will be no “team snacks” for post or pre-game. Please do not bring anything to share with teammates. 
  • To help with social distancing of spectators during the games we will have additional seating in the out fields during the games.


Dixie Boys Baseball

  • Coaches, Teams & Schedules will be posted on opeikaparks.com & you will be contacted by your coach on June 7. 
  •  Practices will begin the week of June 8.
  • Games will begin the week of June 22. 
  • League play ends July 31 
  • Teams will typically play and practice 3 nights per week, Monday – Friday.

Modifications due to COVID-19

  • Players will not be in the dugout while the team is batting there will be designate areas outside the fence for Players only. No parents permitted. 
  • There is no sharing of equipment each player must have their own bat, glove, helmet, catcher’s equipment. 
  • There will be no “team snacks” for post or pre-game. Please do not bring anything to share with teammates. 
  • Spectators need to be aware of the social distancing guidelines during games, and practices.
