[ARCHIVED] OPELIKA UTILITIES WILL DIVERT TRAFFIC FROM 1st AVENUE WHILE MAKING SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS

Opelika Utilities crews will divert traffic while they lay an eight-inch ductile iron pipe for system improvements on 1st Avenue starting Monday, September 17, 2019.

Starting at the block of 16th Street and 16th Place, one block of 1st Avenue will be closed at a time and the work will be completed before another block of 1st Avenue is closed.

The contractor will block the road with barricades and place detour signs along the route illustrated in the attached plan.

The road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily and will then be reopened for traffic.

If you have any questions, please contact Opelika Utilities Project Manager, Alan Lee at [email protected].
