I had the honor of recognizing the OHS Cheerleaders at the Nov. 16, 2021 City Council meeting. The team won the South Regional Championship and are going to State!! Congratulations to Lauren Landry, Railey Jones, Bianca Brown, Jordan Nolen, Orah Preston, Sydney Lowe , Khaci Spence , Emma Childs , Kyden Cook, Linsey Boies, Meagan Alvis, RiLeigh McBride, Susannah Couey, McKay Yountz, Paige Bales, Kyndall McCracken, Kennedy Brewer, Ava Pike and their coaches: Emmaree Wilson and Dayna Justice.
I also presented a Certificate of Bravery to Brandon Lee, Kevin Baxter and Cory Bracknell for their heroic actions on December 15, 2017. These men helped save a women's life during a domestic violence incident. We are proud of these men and appreciate their selfless actions.
In addition, I was happy to celebrate with Tipi Miller, Director of Keep Opelika Beautiful. She presented Yard of the Year awards to five of Opelika's finest citizens.
