Revitalization of our downtown business district promotes historic preservation, tourism, and stimulates the economy promoting business growth. Business owners in the Downtown Historic District may qualify for grant funds through Opelika Main Street Bill Roberts Facade Grant Program to perform exterior repairs.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program of the City of Opelika funds this program. Property owners and tenants can apply for a 50% match for façade enhancements up to $7,000 per property. Approval must be received by the Opelika Historic Preservation Commission and the Opelika Main Street Design Committee prior to commencement of work.
