Appointed by: the Opelika City Council. The City Council appoints two of the five members of the board of directors. The City of Auburn appoints two members and a fifth member is selected by the board of directors.
Required / Purpose: The Indian Pines Recreation Authority was established to oversee the joint operation of the Indian Pines facility between the City of Auburn and the City of Opelika. The authority’s goal is to acquire, finance, refinance, provide for, establish, install, and manage this recreational area, including the golf course and skate center.
