We’re were thrilled to break ground on the new Opelika Police Department and Municipal Court, August 22, 2018. This project has been in the works for some five years. As many of you know, the last renovations were done in 1977. As you can see, we’ve hit the ground running and plan to complete the new building in 18 months.
The new 37,000 square foot facility is going to give our officers and staff more room to do their jobs -- more storage for the retention of evidence and records, a new patrol room, lockers, gym and upgraded kennels for our K9 officers. Municipal Court will have their own building, which will add more seating and additional attorney – client room and Judges’ chambers.
We'd like to thank our construction team:
Robins & Morton – Construction Manager
Seay, Seay & Litchfield – Architect

We will be posting updates occasionally, as well as showing time-lapse videos of our progress. Stay tuned!
