Originally incorporated in 1977 and updated in 1978, the Friends of the Lewis Cooper Jr. Memorial Library has gone through many changes, but throughout it all, the vision has remained the same:
The Friends of the Cooper Library exists to support and promote the library and to encourage, engage, and foster in its members not only a love of reading and education, but a curiosity about and love for the community that surrounds them.
What we do
The Friends support the Library. The most visible way we do this is through on-going and annual book sales. The money raised is used for many things including refreshments at library programs, performers for children's programs, awards at summer reading programs, equipment and materials like popcorn machines and dvd cleaners, and so much more.
