The city’s Public Works functions have been managed by ESG Operations, Inc. and their “Team Opelika” crews since 2005.
The department has ten major divisions, which include the Public Works Divisions of grounds keeping, streets maintenance, public cemeteries, wastewater collection, waste water treatment, automotive and equipment services, sanitary sewer, traffic signals and signs, parks and recreation (field maintenance) and building maintenance for all city facilities.

Construction Dumpster Placement Approval
All applications for the use of street, or other public spaces of the city for placement of a construction dumpster should be sent to the Director of Public Works.
