The city’s Public Works functions have beenmanaged by ESG Operations, Inc. and their “Team Opelika” crews since 2005.The department has ten major divisions, which include the Public WorksDivisions of grounds keeping, streets maintenance, public cemeteries, wastewater collection, waste water treatment, automotive & equipment services,sanitary sewer, traffic signals & signs, parks & recreation (fieldmaintenance) and building maintenance for all city facilities.

Construction Dumpster Placement Approval

Chapter 10, Article 1, Section 16 - City Ordinance

All applications for the use of street, or other public spaces of the city for placement of a construction dumpster should be sent to the Director of Public Works. The application should describe the grounds and the desired periods of occupation.  For more information on howto submit the request please call 334-705-5400.
