Happy Birthday Mrs. Ethel Mae Ennis Story

    

Mayor Fuller and the City Council enjoyed celebrating Ethel Mae Ennis Story's 105th Birthday.

Mrs. Story was born on September 26, 1912 to Margie Foster and Thomas Wilson Ennis, Sr. in Auburn. She married Alva Curtis Story in 1940.  The young couple eventually moved into Opelika. They welcomed three children, a daughter, Louise, two sons, Thomas and John Wallace. 

While Mrs. Ethel’s beloved,Curtis, worked his regular job as a salesman for Royal Crown and Dr. Pepper Bottling Companies, Mrs. Ethel often ran the neighborhood grocery stores that Curtis owned and operated on the side. Later, Ethel enjoyed working some forty years in the nursery at Opelika First Baptist Church as well as in the Mother’s Day Out programs at First United Methodist and Trinity Methodist.

Her husband passed away in 1980. Mrs. Story has six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Happy Birthday Mrs. Story!
