Camping and Fishing
- Spring Villa Park -- Located on 325 acres of beautifully wooded land that are home to the Penn Yonge House now listed on the National Historic Register. Spring Villa has a modern campground facility, a spring-fed swimming pool, picnic sites and many walking trails. Spring Villa is located on Spring Villa Road or Lee County Highway 148. The park is open from sunrise to 11 p.m. There is no admission to the park. Admission is charged for swimming and camping facilities. - Chewacla State Park -- Located just outside of Auburn, AL off of U.S. 29 South, Chewacla State Park has improved camping facilities and cabins for a family or for larger groups. The miles of nature trails for hiking and biking run along the creeks and through the hills of this 696-acre park. There is a 26-acre lake for swimming, with fishing and boating available. There are tennis courts, picnic areas, a playground and a waterfall. Hours are 8 a.m. to sunset daily. For more information, contact 887-5621 or 1-800-ALAPARK.
- Lee County Public Fishing Lake -- Located on Lee road 146, this 130-acre public fishing lake operated by the State of Alabama. Fishing permits are required at this lake where fishing boats and trolling motors are available for rent. Boat ramps are available. The lake is open Saturday to Thursday from February to June; Wednesday from July to November.
Saugahatchee Lake -- This 600-acre lake is stocked with all types of freshwater fish. Fishing and boat permits are required. Information on how to get a license may be obtained by CLICKING HERE. Hours are Tuesday to Sunday from sunrise to sunset. For more information, contact 334-705-5500.
